Our Equipment
Event Solar Power offers three systems for event power. All are 100% solar. All are totally silent. All are 100% fuel and fume free.
The Solar ShuttleTM
The Solar ShuttleTM (above left) is our largest system. It's capable of powering sound stage amplifiers and related equipment for up to 5,000 or more attendees. It can also power welders, lights, audio and video equipment, power tools, and many other types of loads, limited only by your needs and imagination. If your it plugs into a standard 120 volt home or office outlet, then it can operate from the Solar ShuttleTM. The Solar ShuttleTM is the primary power source we provide.
The Solar ShuttleTM rents for $75 per hour (in one-hour increments), with a four hour minimum. Delivery to your site is billed at $1 per mile "portal-to-portal" (round-trip) from Keller, Texas to your event site. This includes delivery, setup, and trained personnel on-site for the duration of your event. If you shop around, you will find this to be more than competitive with fuel-based generators delivered -- and THEY don't include an on-site equipment supervisor to help ensure the success of your event. We do!
Auxiliary Systems
Do you have additional power needs at your event that aren't near a power source? Why rent a separate generator? Our auxiliary power systems may offer a solution! Events often have need for additional temporary power at remote locations.
For instance:
- Marathons typically have participant registration at a location some distance from the starting line. Computers and lights are needed only for a few hours, then not again for the remainder of your event.
- Small public address systems are often located at event entrances to make announcements, such as child lost and found!
- Battery charging stations for two-way radios used by your event volunteers will help to keep your event running smoothly. Ever had your phone battery to go dead in the middle of an event? Our auxiliary power systems can also be used to charge cell phones! (You and your guests will need to use your own chargers.)
- After-hours area lighting. A safety feature! Avoid running extension cords in dark areas! (Area lighting not supplied.)
... and many other needs.
The Shuttle Power WagonTM
The Shuttle Power WagonTM (above center) is an optional auxiliary solar power source that can deliver up to 1,100 watts (120 volts ac at 8.3 amps). This is sufficient for modest audio amplifier systems, portable video systems, laptop computers, temporary lighting, and many other applications. It has four batteries and an inverter in the wagon. An external solar panel (not shown) provides some daytime recharging capability.
The Shuttle Power WagonTM rents for $40 per hour (in 30 minute increments), with a one-hour minimum. The Shuttle Power WagonTM is available for rent only in conjunction with the Solar ShuttleTM.
The Shuttle Power CartTM
The Shuttle Power CartTM (above right) is ideal for small loads, and has been used for 100 watt public address systems, fish tank water pumps at outdoor environmental fairs, as a cell-phone and laptop computer charging station, and numerous other interesting tasks. Its small size and superb portability make the power cart a perfect power solution for small power loads in areas with limited space.
The Shuttle Power CartTM rents for $25 per hour (in 30 minute increments), with a one-hour minimum. The Solar Power CartTM is available for rent only in conjunction with the Solar ShuttleTM.
The Solar ShuttleTM, Shuttle Power WagonTM, and Shuttle Power CartTM are each completely self-contained solar electric power systems. They provide AC power on their own, without additional components. Simply plug in and you're ready to go!
Extension Cords
Extension cords are also available in limited quantity to rent with our solar equipment. We offer two different capacity cords (15 amp & 20 amp) in three different lengths. Safety tape and/or other measures to protect extension cords and your guests is required for use with any cords we rent to you. Adhesive safety tape, if used, will incur a cost to you for each roll used. A best-effort estimate of safety tape usage will be made based on the layout you provide to us. For safety reasons, extension cords cannot be run more than 100 feet from the Solar ShuttleTM or other solar power source we provide. In the interest of safety, and the proper operation of your equipment, circuit amperage limits may also need to be reduced for longer cable runs.
Length | Wire Size | Current | Rental Rate* |
25 feet | 14 gauge | 15 amps | $6.00 |
50 feet | 14 gauge | 15 amps | $10.00 |
100 feet | 14 gauge | 15 amps | $15.00 |
50 feet | 12 gauge | 20 amps | $15.00 |
100 feet | 12 gauge | 20 amps | $20.00 |
Power and outlet strips are not provided. * Extension cord rental rates are "per event". |
Extension cords cannot be safely installed across hard-suface pathways such as sidewalks, driveways, or pavement without protective coverings or "walk-overs". Because each venue is so different, we do not provide these protective covers at this time. Extension cords CAN be secured along walls, at the lower edge of curbs, and other locations where they won't be stepped on, driven on, rolled over, or otherwise crushed. If your venue requires extension cords to cross exposed surfaces or pathways of any type, you will need to rent or buy "walk-overs" to protect the cords and your guests.
We can provide four-inch wide yellow & black cable safety tape (also called "gaffers tape") in 30-yard rolls for $50.00 per roll and each partial roll used at your event. We must be notified in advance so we can make sure we have a sufficient number of rolls of tape available for your event. We do not provide "walk-overs" or other cable protection at this time. This will be your responsibility.
All equipment is subject to prior rental. Rates are subject to adjustment based on the type and venue of your event.
